I have been to Coyote Hills several times before. In fact two summers back, my husband and I worked out every day at Coyote Hills. This Labor day weekend, my husband and I hiked Coyote Hills again, but this one was special. We tagged along our new little baby, our 4 month old German Shepherd puppy Zed on his first hike. Coyote Hills proved to be the perfect hike for his tiny paws. While there are unpaved strenuous paths that we hiked for our everyday exercise, the hills have flatter paved paths as well. We took him on a two hour hike and we marveled as he explored every nook and corner of Coyote Hills. Through his eyes, we explored a new Coyote Hills. He spotted deers at a distance, shook his head to the sounds of the plane flying above him, and enjoyed the cold breeze from the water. He has not been to a beach yet and he sat for a few minutes just soaking in the expanse of water. Someone rightly said, it’s not the destination but the journey that makes it intriguing. When the journey includes a black fluffy little companion, every destination can feel like an evening in Paris or London!
